Music Fridays Needs Your Help!!
That is right! MFE has teamed up with MOOSE and Series 42 to make this year’s Music Friday bigger, better, and FONKY-er! But we need YOUR help to pull it off!
We have begun an Indiegogo Fundraising campaign centered on Music Fridays in Lancaster. Indiegogo is a crowd fundraising platform that allows organizations to reach out through the internet and raise funds for a project or a purpose.
This is where YOU come in. Visit the Indiegogo page and watch the short video about Music Friday. If you are moved to do so, PLEASE DONATE!
You can also help by sharing this with friends, family, and co-workers! Forward this email to everyone you know! Share the link on your social media http://igg.me/at/MusicFridays. Tell someone about Music Fridays and how they can help!
Music Fridays helps make Lancaster a stronger more vibrant community. This is why we believe it is so important to keep this tradition strong and growing. Now YOU can play a part in making this possible! YOU can make our community a better more vibrant arts community! YOU can help put Lancaster on the map as an arts destination! YOU can cultivate the power of music! And… it starts with a CLICK….
Pianos For Everybody!!
As a way to “launch” our 5th anniversary of “Keys For The City”, which will hit the streets on May 16th, MFE, in conjunction with Millersville University’s Music Department, is offering to provide 40 pianos free of charge to Lancaster County residents. “Keys For Everyone” was born when Millersville University’s Music Department contacted us to ask whether we could use 8 electric pianos and 32 keyboards that were being replaced. We simply couldn’t bear the thought of these instruments being trashed. So we decided to try to find homes for them. You or anyone you know interested in an upright digital piano or a digital keyboard? If so, beginning April 10th, go to our website, click the “Pianos for Everyone” icon, fill out the form, and submit it to MFE. The deadline for submission is May 16th. We will then review and select the piano winners.
MFE’s Second Annual “Festival of Voices” Choral Festival a Rousing Success!
We are delighted to report that our second choral festival was again a huge success! On March 28th, a full house at the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster enjoyed a wide range of choral groups, including Grandview Sings (a community children’s choir), N.C. Schaeffer Elementary Glee Club, Wheatland Middle School Vocal Ensemble, The Sentimentals, Broad Street Line from Temple University, the Bright Side Baptist Choir, the Essence of Joy Alumni Singers, and the MFE Community Chorus. Many thanks to Everyone in attendance, and our generous sponsors: Linden Hall, Tom and Barbra Smithgall, Grandma’s Workshop Knitting Weaving Embroidery, and Katherman Briggs & Greenburg LLP.
Interested in Sponsoring a “Keys For The City” 2014 Piano?
If so, your company’s name or logo will be incorporated into the piano’s design, you will be mentioned on MFE’s website, Facebook, and Twitter throughout the summer. Sponsorship opportunities are available at the $500 and $3000 levels. Most important, your contribution will be applied to MFE’s 2015 grant program fund. Keys For the City 2014 is on the way and this is a great way for you to be a part of it. If interested, contact John Gerdy at 717-871-1710 or Johngerdy@aol.com.
