2016 January Eblast

A Decade of MFE!

That is right! Music For Everyone is officially 10 years old. Not only are we turning 10, but we have also hit our $1,000,000 mark in investment in Lancaster County music programs.  We will be celebrating throughout the year with many special events, all highlighting our various programs, the first of which is on January 28th at the Pressroom restaurant. This 10 year kickoff party will be one way for us to say thank you for your support over the years. We will also be unveiling our brand new 10 year MFE Logo that evening!

The event will run from 5:30 – 7:30PM. Drop by for a drink to help us mark this milestone. For questions or details you can visit our website or email MFE.

Refugee Benefit Concert Series

On January 17th, MFE is teaming up with Church World Service and Tellus360 for a concert to raise awareness and show solidarity with refugees who have moved into our community. This concert is free and open to the public as a community building effort between all of the organizations that are involved, as well as a way to bring our community closer with the refugee population.

The event starts at 5:00 PM and will feature Corty Byron and a whole host of other Lancaster Musicians. So come and be a part of a great community building event, we look forward to seeing you there.

MFE is Thrilled to Announce the Return of the Singer Songwriter Showcase Hosted at Tellus360!

Beginning January 20th, MFE will host a singer-songwriter night on the third Wednesday of every month at Tellus360. This showcase is a great opportunity for musician to bring some fresh material in front of objective ears and professional songwriters. While the showcase is a great way for musicians to hone their songwriting skills, it is also a yearlong competition. The four artists who bring in the largest audiences will have the opportunity to perform at the October showcase, which is also a benefit for MFE! So break out those axes, dust off the songwriting pad, tune up, and get on down to Tellus360 for the MFE Singer-Songwriter nights!

The Schedule for the Singer Songwriter Nights:

January 20 — Saint Narcissus
February 17 — Peter Kinsley
March 16 — Reenie Hall
April 20 — Hannah Bingman
May 18 — Steve Ward
June 15 — Butch Zito
July 20 — Justin Angelo
August 17 — Julia Jordan-Kamanda
September 21 — Melissa Leo

October 19 — Sing-off

You don’t have to be a musician to attend the singer-songwriter nights just a music lover. Come support local music at its roots and have a great time while doing so!

“MFE in the Schools” Update.

“MFE in the Schools” is still going strong! Our Music Mentors work with almost 300 kids per week in 8 different schools to strengthen music programs in SDOL. The program continues to be successful and is directly cultivating the power of music as an educational tool.

MFE would like to thank Thomas & Georgina Russo Family Foundation for the support as the lead sponsor of the program.

Reminder: MFE Ukulele Uprising!

Come join the MFE Ukulele Uprising on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm at the VisionCorps building (244 N. Queen St.) All are welcome to this community building initiative.
