Music for Everyone exists to cultivate the power of music as an educational, community building and public health tool to transform lives, schools, and communities in Lancaster County. Since our organization’s founding in 2006, MFE’s impact on the role that music plays in Lancaster County has been significant.

To date MFE has:

  • Provided over $5.0 Million of investment in community and educational music programs throughout Lancaster county.
  • Placed 203 Keys for the City Street pianos in Lancaster City.
  • Provided over 14,000 instruments to Lancaster county Schools and non-profit organizational music programs.
  • Provided 10,000+ hours of MFE mentor instruction in the School District of Lancaster.

Music For Everyone is currently hiring for a Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is responsible for making decisions for operational activities and set goals for the organization. They are responsible for planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the organization and its business to ensure objectives and goals are met, supervising staff and contracted employees and providing constructive feedback.

Responsibilities include:

Manage relationships with organization staff and faculty, community partners, school administration and investors.

Oversee all aspects of grants administration

Collaborate with organization staff in the monitoring of existing programs and the development of new programs.

Manage the financial statements, participate in the budgeting process of the organization; produce financial reports for board of directors and executive director; process payroll and invoices.

Oversee organization staff and faculty, ensuring all programs are efficient and effective

Maintain relationships with musicians and artists. Manage all aspects of recruiting, booking and payments.

Manage vendor and business relationships, such as printing, merchandise and instrument acquisition.

Liaise with leadership to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals and budgets

Plan and monitor the day-to-day operation of business to ensure smooth progress

Supervise staff from different programs and services and provide constructive feedback while setting a positive and confident leadership example

Regularly evaluate the efficiency of organization procedures according to organizational objectives and implement improvements

Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to meet revenue goals and manage expenses.

Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation

Evaluate overall organization and program performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics

Ensure that the organization complies with legal and established industry regulations

Champion the mission of the organization, representing the organization in the community.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff

Oversees the daily workflow of the organization

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Education and Experience

Experience in Operations/Management
Financial Background
CRM software helpful
Website Management
Familiarity with Lancaster city and county, helpful
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Familiarity of music industry and musicianship a plus
