Legacy giving is about many things. The future and paying it forward. Connection. Feeling good.
I will be contributing beyond my earth bound life to a worthy organization. That brings good feelings to me in the present.
Legacy giving is usually about feeling a connection to the organization you have chosen. In my case, MFE brought new friendships into my life along with so many joyful and meaningful experiences that will never ever be forgotten. I am deeply entwined and forever grateful.
I became involved with MFE in 2009 when I walked into the doors for the first gathering of The MFE Community Chorus. Over the years I have watched the impact MFE has had not only on my life but on the lives of so many others from children to the elderly. As an original member of the MFE chorus, The Festival of Voices and their steering committees, I have witnessed the positive power of music for people of all ages, colors, shapes and persuasions. Music and art somehow level the playing fields of life and MFE has provided the tools for that to happen in a myriad of ways. Community has been formed. Broken hearts healed. Suffering minds mended and so much more. Over the years, I have experienced these things in my own life and the lives of many others.
I contribute currently to MFE in many small ways, but at the end of my life giving a large portion all at once has the potential to make real and necessary change. I trust that the people who will be at the helm will have the interests of all members of our community in mind. And perhaps by then beyond ours to others. What MFE has done is clearly a role model that can be used for the good of others.
I am very proud to among the first Legacy Society members, and I feel great about it!
