About the Designer

Christiane David
Born and raised in Belgium, Christiane began painting at the age of eight. This was no surprise since her father was a painter, her grandfather was a chef who taught her that presentation was an important artistic element, and her family surrounded her with many other forms of art such as music, antiques, and literature.
After studying architecture in Brussels, Belgium, Christiane began a career as a designer, but continued her education in oil and watercolor at the Academy of Art in Brussels where she studied under pupils of the famous Belgium painters Paul Delvaux and Rene Magritte.
While in Europe, Christiane participated in many juried art shows and also sold her work, but in 1985 she and her husband, along with their daughter, moved to the United States. She soon made a name for herself as an artist here in the States. On January 14th, 2011 Christiane became a United States citizen.
“As life is a journey, my art is my vehicle and I see my work as milestone expressions. Using watercolor and oil I emphasize the nature of the color more than the nature of the object itself. In my abstract painting I completely eliminate the subject to concentrate on color, shape and rhythm, a painterly exploration and an attempt to capture the soul essence of life”
